Nearly half of Filipinos say they are unhappy with Marcos’ performance, Pulse Asia finds

Public sentiment toward President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. shifted modestly in the final quarter of 2025, with nearly one in two Filipino adults expressing dissatisfaction with his performance, according to the latest nationwide polling.

Findings from the December round of Pulse Asia’s Ulat ng Bayan show that 48 percent of respondents registered disapproval, up four points from the level measured in September. Over the same period, approval edged up slightly to 34 percent, while 18 percent said they had not yet formed a view.

Measures of public trust tracked a similar pattern. The survey reported that 47 percent of adults said they do not trust the president, compared with 32 percent who said they do, and 21 percent who remained undecided.

In contrast, assessments of Vice President Sara Duterte were more favorable. A majority of respondents—56 percent—said they held a positive view of her performance, while 24 percent expressed disapproval.

Trust indicators for the vice president also leaned positive, with 54 percent saying they trust her, 24 percent saying they do not, and 22 percent indicating uncertainty.

Pulse Asia said the December survey was carried out through face-to-face interviews with 1,200 Filipino adults aged 18 and above from December 12 to 15.
