The “Sumbong sa Pangulo” website launched by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has received almost 20,000 reports and letters raising concerns over alleged irregularities in government flood control projects, Malacañang confirmed on Thursday.
According to Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, the platform had logged 19,729 complaints as of 9 a.m. on October 9.
She added that the government has not yet decided when the complaint portal will close, noting it may be taken down once reports stop coming in.
The “Sumbong sa Pangulo” site, launched in August, is part of a government effort to identify and address questionable flood control projects worth billions of pesos. The President earlier urged citizens to use the site to verify listed projects and flag those that are incomplete, substandard, or non-existent.
As of October, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported finding around 400 “ghost projects” out of nearly 8,000 inspected structures.
