The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) welcomed 50.1 million passengers in 2024, marking a 10.4 percent increase from 2023 and surpassing pre-pandemic figures by 5.1 percent, according to the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).
The airport also reported 293,488 flights, up 4.83 percent from the previous year and 8.08 percent higher than 2019, highlighting the resurgence of air travel. NNIC President Ramon S. Ang described the growth as a clear indicator of renewed confidence in flying, with more Filipinos and international visitors traveling.
During the busy holiday period from December 30 to January 1, the airport achieved an average On-Time Performance (OTP) of 83.36 percent.
The San Miguel-led NNIC, which assumed operations of NAIA in September, has implemented various upgrades, including raising parking fees to prioritize passengers and partnering with Meralco to enhance power supply. The consortium is also utilizing part of the Nayong Pilipino property for infrastructure development to support airport operations.
NNIC assured the public of continued improvements in infrastructure and streamlined operations to meet growing passenger demand in 2025.
