Fans of romantic comedy in the UAE have a treat waiting for them this coming February. The Philippines’ remake of the beloved South Korean film “My Sassy Girl” is set to premiere across cinemas in the region on February 1, 2024. This marks the 20th anniversary of the original film’s release, bringing a fresh take on the classic story to a new generation of movie-goers.
Directed by Fifth Solomon, the film stars Toni Gonzaga and Pepe Herrera, with Gonzaga also making a notable return to the genre of romantic comedy where she has garnered immense popularity. “My Sassy Girl” weaves the tale of Junjee and Sheena, two characters who defy traditional gender roles and societal expectations of masculinity and femininity in Asian culture.
