The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has concluded the year with a flurry of activities dedicated to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the region.
On November 4, the MWO-Dubai in collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General, provided essential services to 348 OFWs, offering assistance with SSS, OWWA, and PAG-IBIG memberships and services. Information regarding these services was disseminated via the PCG and MWO-Dubai’s websites and social media platforms.
The following weekend, on November 11, MWO-Dubai organized a special service for the Ras Al Khaimah Community, attracting 200 OFWs. In partnership with the Filipino Club Ras Al Khaimah, MWO-Dubai aimed to assist those in their community with various available services.
Capping off the events, MWO-Dubai hosted the second “Salamat, Kabayan! Year 2” Thanksgiving Service for Domestic Workers in Dubai and Northern Emirates on November 19. This event celebrates domestic workers and offers them a day of relaxation and appreciation with free health and wellness services, including medical check-ups, haircuts, facials, and manicures, along with entertainment and games.
The Thanksgiving event expects to draw a significant crowd, with over 1,000 to 1,500 OFWs anticipated. Attendees can also look forward to raffle prizes and freebies, underscoring MWO-Dubai’s commitment to giving back to their community. Additionally, MWO-Dubai announced the continuation of employment contract verification, onsite contract verification, and other regular services throughout the rest of the year.
