The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has announced that it will be closed to the public on Monday, August 26, 2024, in observance of National Heroes’ Day. The closure is in line with Proclamation No. 368 s. 2023 and Proclamation No. 665 s. 2024, as declared by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai.
MWO-Dubai has issued an advisory to assist workers who may be affected by the closure, providing specific dates and times for those with immediate travel needs. Workers with confirmed flights on August 26-27, 2024, are advised to visit MWO-Dubai on August 21-22, 2024, between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM, or on August 23, 2024, from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
For workers unable to have their documents verified prior to their flight, the advisory states that an authorized representative may visit MWO-Dubai five days before the worker’s return flight to the UAE or three days before their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) appointment in the Philippines.
In case of emergencies, the advisory includes contact details for various units within the MWO-Dubai, such as Accreditation/Job Order, Individual Contract Verification/OEC, Assistance to Nationals, OWWA, SSS, and Pag-IBIG, providing workers with the necessary support during the closure.
