Ten Filipino workers stranded in the UAE received financial assistance from the Migrant Workers Office – Dubai and Northern Emirates on March 10, 2026, as the office stepped up its response to ongoing flight disruptions affecting Overseas Filipino Workers in the region.
Among those assisted were six seafarers who had been grounded due to the situation in the Middle East. The six were scheduled to fly home to the Philippines via Emirates airlines on the same day MWO-Dubai extended the aid. Three other seafarers, temporarily housed in a Dubai hotel, also received financial support from the office.
A separate case involved a stranded worker who had sought assistance directly from the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai. The worker, photographed holding documents issued by MWO-Dubai, was given financial aid through the office.
Alongside its airport and hotel outreach, the MWO-Dubai also conducted a welfare check on a hospitalized OFW diagnosed with Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH). MWO-Dubai Assistant Labor Attaché Suzanne A. Roriguez and OWWA Welfare Officer Judith G. Santos made the hospital visit. Both offices said they would continue monitoring the patient’s condition and providing the necessary support for his recovery.
