The Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates will temporarily close its public services on several dates from late December 2025 through New Year’s Day, in line with official Philippine holiday observances.
In an advisory released on December 18, MWO Dubai confirmed that its office will be closed to the public on December 24 and 25 for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 30 for Rizal Day, December 31 for New Year’s Eve, and January 1, 2026 for New Year’s Day.
To minimize disruption to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with imminent travel or documentation needs, the office outlined specific alternative dates when affected workers may process their transactions ahead of the closures.
Workers with confirmed flights or appointments scheduled on December 24 or 25 are advised to visit MWO Dubai earlier, either on December 22 or 23, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Meanwhile, those with confirmed flights or appointments on December 30 or 31, 2025, or January 1, 2026, may visit on December 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., or on December 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
MWO Dubai also encouraged the use of its online contract verification system for workers whose documents were verified prior to their flight or for those already in the Philippines. Through the online platform, workers may submit documents, pay verification fees, and download their verified employment contracts without appearing in person. The office noted that additional information about the system is available through official MWO Dubai channels.
For workers unable to personally visit the office, the advisory allows transactions to be processed through an authorized representative. Representatives may visit MWO Dubai up to five days before the worker’s return flight to the UAE, or three days before the worker’s scheduled OEC appointment in the Philippines, subject to proper authorization.
Despite the temporary suspension of public counter services on the listed dates, MWO Dubai assured workers that emergency assistance and essential support services remain accessible through designated contact numbers and email addresses. These include assistance for accreditation and job orders, individual contract verification and OEC concerns, welfare services through OWWA, and inquiries related to SSS and Pag-IBIG.
