Over 4,000 workers hailing from 75 different nationalities came together to form a colossal human tableau during iftar, crafting the words ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ in Arabic. The extraordinary gathering was orchestrated by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (Iacad) in commemoration of Zayed Humanitarian Day on the 19th day of Ramadan.
Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, the Director-General of Iacad, emphasized the event’s significance, stating, “It is the legacy of the founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who showcased the power of giving as practised by the UAE, fostering the values of solidarity with fellow humans wherever they are.”
The inclusive iftar brought together individuals from diverse backgrounds, with more than 75 nationalities joining in. Additionally, the event saw the participation of 100 volunteers from various government entities and community members.
Alongside the main event, participating and sponsoring organizations extended various services to the workers, including educational courses and workshops on first aid. The Dubai Health Authority also offered free medical check-ups, ensuring the well-being of attendees.
Mohammed Musabeh Dahi, the Acting Executive Director of Charitable Work Sector at Iacad, highlighted the significance of Zayed Humanitarian Day, stating, “It is an occasion to recognize and celebrate humanity through solidarity, cooperation, and compassion among people.”
Latifa Alqemzi, General Manager of DP World Charity Foundation, echoed sentiments of admiration for Sheikh Zayed’s legacy, noting, “The legacy of Sheikh Zayed is an inspiration for people of today and for future generations.”
