More than 2,000 OFWs served in Dubai as DMW delivers over 11,300 transactions in two-day caravan

More than 2,000 overseas Filipino workers received government assistance as the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) staged the second leg of the Bagong Bayani ng Mundo: OFW Serbisyo Caravan in Dubai, delivering over 11,300 transactions in just two days.

A total of 2,187 OFWs registered and availed of various services at the Dubai World Trade Centre Halls 1–3 from November 15–16, where 11 government agencies worked alongside 520 Filipino Social Club volunteers to streamline legal, welfare, membership, insurance, and health-related assistance.

DMW Undersecretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay said the strong turnout and feedback reflected how government agencies are “bringing services closer” to Filipinos abroad. Key services included the integrated OFW Travel Pass via the eGovPH app and the expedited Online Employment Contract Verification System (OECVS).

Undersecretary Bernard P. Olalia emphasized that the DMW remains prepared to respond to cases involving contract violations, non-payment of wages, abuse, and other situations requiring legal protection. Through the DMW AKSYON Fund, he said, the government provides free legal services and other forms of support to affected workers.

DMW-MWO Dubai Labor Attaché John Rio Bautista described the caravan’s return to Dubai—its second this year—as a reaffirmation that “no OFW is left behind” under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., noting that the initiative brought “SERBILIS” service directly to the Filipino community.
