Indian customs at Cochin International Airport uncovered a bold smuggling attempt when they retrieved over a kilogram of gold from a passenger’s rectum.
The individual, arriving from Dubai, was selected for inspection at the green channel. Officials found four capsule-shaped packets containing gold paste inside the passenger. The packets had a combined weight of 1111.25 grams.
The confiscated gold holds significant value. The passenger has since been detained, and authorities are probing connections to broader smuggling operations.
