More OFWs turn to Pampanga’s OFW Hospital for specialized care in 2025

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has reported a notable rise in the number of patients served by the OFW Hospital and Diagnostic Center in Pampanga during the first quarter of 2025, nearly three years since its launch.

According to the DMW, there has been a 92% increase in inpatients, rising from 109 in the first quarter of 2024 to 209 this year. Outpatient services also saw growth, with 12,097 patients served this year compared to 10,143 in the same period last year—marking a 19% increase.

“The surge in patients indicates growing trust in the hospital’s capacity to provide specialized care for OFWs and continuing capacity build-up,” the DMW said in a statement.

There was also a steady climb in the hospital’s procedure counts: radiology and laboratory services both rose by 30%, heart station procedures increased by 34%, and respiratory services were up by 10%.

“The OFW Hospital showed significant milestones in the healthcare delivery for migrant workers and their families,” the DMW added.

To further strengthen the facility, the government is planning key expansions, including the construction of a Cancer Center Building and improvements in the Heart Station, Radiology, and Respiratory departments.

“These initiatives will not only enhance the hospital’s capabilities but also broaden its reach in specialized care, providing vital services closer to home for OFWs and their loved ones,” the DMW emphasized.
