More flights coming: UAE airlines get approval to add Manila routes

UAE carriers are set to increase flight services to Manila following fresh aviation discussions between authorities from the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines, according to a report by state news agency WAM.

The expanded access was agreed during recent Air Services Agreement consultations between the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority and the Philippines’ Civil Aeronautics Board, where both sides reviewed current air transport needs and examined options to deepen bilateral air links.

As a result of the talks, the UAE secured additional flight entitlements, allowing its national airlines — including Emirates and Etihad — to mount more services to the Philippine capital.

The adjustment reflects sustained passenger demand on the UAE–Philippines route, underpinned by strong travel flows and the continued presence of a large Filipino workforce residing across the Emirates.

Aviation cooperation between the two countries has evolved over years of engagement, with both governments pursuing closer alignment on air services as part of wider efforts to support tourism, trade exchanges, and cross-border mobility.

Officials from both sides also explored opportunities to further expand commercial flight operations, reinforcing civil aviation growth while strengthening people-to-people connections between the UAE and the Philippines.
