More allegations emerge against pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Philippine police report

Philippine police revealed on Wednesday that additional individuals have come forward with allegations of sexual abuse against celebrity pastor Apollo Quiboloy, highlighting what authorities describe as a troubling pattern of misconduct. The self-proclaimed “Appointed Son of God” faces numerous charges in both the Philippines and the United States, including sex trafficking, money laundering, and child abuse.

Quiboloy was apprehended on Sunday following an extensive search of his church’s 30-hectare compound by over 2,000 security personnel. According to police, girls as young as 12 were among the victims, with several individuals from Quiboloy’s “inner-circle pastorals” playing a key role in exposing the extent of the alleged crimes.

“These courageous victims have spoken up, revealing their harrowing experiences. The abuse they endured shows an alarming pattern of manipulation and exploitation,” said Philippine police chief General Francisco Marbil in a statement. He further encouraged other victims to come forward, ensuring them of protection.

Quiboloy, a close ally of former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte, maintains his innocence. His lawyers, Ferdinand Topacio and Israelito Torreon, have yet to comment on the latest developments.

While Quiboloy is also wanted by the FBI for sex-trafficking operations, the Philippine justice ministry confirmed this week that he must first face trial and serve any sentence locally before any potential extradition to the U.S.
