Two of the biggest films from the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024, The Kingdom and Uninvited, are heading to the Middle East this January 2025, bringing award-winning Filipino cinema to OFWs and moviegoers across the region. Uninvited will kick off its screening on January 2, while The Kingdom will follow on January 16.
Directed by the acclaimed Michael Tuviera, The Kingdom swept multiple awards at the MMFF 2024, including 2nd Best Picture, Best Director (tied with Crisanto Aquino for My Future You), and the prestigious Gatpuno Antonio J. Villegas Cultural Award. The film also took home accolades for Best Supporting Actor (Sid Lucero), Best Supporting Actress (Cristine Reyes), Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects, among others.
Set in an alternate history of an uncolonized Philippines, The Kingdom blends fantasy, action, and drama to narrate the tale of Lakan Makisig, portrayed by Vic Sotto, who defends his kingdom against internal and external threats. Piolo Pascual and a stellar ensemble cast round out the film, offering gripping performances and stunning visuals.

Nadine Lustre and Gabby Padilla also won Best Supporting Actress, sharing the award for their compelling roles in this haunting psychological drama.
