Minor bus collision in Ajman sends schoolchildren to hospital for precautionary checks

A minor collision between two school buses in Ajman’s Al Mowaihat area prompted a swift emergency response on Tuesday, with authorities confirming that all students involved were unharmed and safely discharged after precautionary medical checks.

Ajman Police said the incident occurred while the students, aged between 6 and 12, were on their way home from school. Thirteen children and one teacher were on board the buses when the second vehicle failed to maintain a safe distance, leading to the low-speed crash.

Emergency responders—including traffic police, Saaed patrols, and the National Ambulance—arrived at the scene within 13 minutes. The area was quickly secured, and all children were evaluated on-site. Some were transported to Khalifa Hospital in Ajman, while three students were admitted to Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah. All were released the same day after treatment.

Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Humaid bin Hindi, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department, stressed the importance of vigilance behind the wheel, especially when transporting schoolchildren. “Ajman Police is fully committed to the safety of students and all road users,” he said, urging drivers to strictly observe traffic rules and maintain safe distances.

The driver responsible for the incident has been penalized, authorities confirmed.
