Workers in the National Capital Region are set to receive a ₱50 daily minimum wage increase beginning July 18, following the approval of Wage Order No. 26 by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) confirmed the adjustment on Monday, which will raise the minimum daily wage for non-agricultural workers from ₱645 to ₱695. Meanwhile, those in the agriculture sector, along with employees in retail and service establishments with no more than 15 workers and manufacturing firms with fewer than 10 employees, will see their daily pay increase from ₱608 to ₱658.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said the wage board unanimously approved the hike, which is expected to benefit around 1.2 million workers across Metro Manila.
The increase comes nearly a year to the day after the region’s last minimum wage adjustment took effect on July 17, 2024.
