Masked man arrested in Ras Al Khaimah for breaking into cars, social media poster also detained

A masked thief accused of breaking into cars and stealing valuables has been apprehended by Ras Al Khaimah Police. The suspect, a man in his thirties, reportedly smashed car windows across various areas to gain access, targeting multiple vehicles.

According to a Khaleej Times report, the arrest followed several complaints about vehicle thefts, according to Dr. Tariq Mohammed bin Saif, Director General of Police Operations. Videos and images of the incidents circulated on social media, prompting heightened public awareness.

In response, a specialised police team launched an investigation, gathering crucial evidence to track down the culprit. The man, an Asian resident, was later detained and admitted to the thefts. He has now been referred to the public prosecutor.

Additionally, authorities arrested an individual who had posted footage of the break-ins online, noting that sharing such content could compromise active investigations. Ras Al Khaimah Police urged the public to avoid spreading similar material to ensure the integrity of police efforts.

Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al-Naeemi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, commended the swift action that led to the arrest and reaffirmed the police’s commitment to safeguarding the community’s security.
