‘Masakit sa akin ‘yon’: OFW father in tears as daughter doesn’t recognize him

A Saudi Arabia-based Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) was overcome with emotion after his three-year-old daughter failed to recognize him during his visit home.

A video shared by GMA Public Affairs captured the heart-wrenching moment as Morris Montiel attempted to carry his daughter, only for the child to cry inconsolably, even when offered gifts he had brought. Struggling to calm her, Morris decided to gently let her go.

For seven years, Morris has worked abroad, separated from his child’s mother. He missed his daughter’s birth and, due to the demands of his job, rarely managed to video call her.

Despite the emotional challenge, Morris remains committed to being a present father. Determined to build a bond with his daughter, he expressed his unconditional love.

“‘Nak, si Daddy ’to.
