Marcos vows continued support for OFWs during Konsyerto sa Palasyo tribute

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the government’s commitment to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families during the fourth Konsyerto sa Palasyo held on Sunday.

In a video message aired during the event, Marcos praised the dedication of OFWs, saying, “Kayo ang patunay na ang mga Pilipino ay kayang-kayang makipagsabayan sa ibang lahi saan mang sulok ng mundo, dahil sa inyong disiplina, tapang, at malasakit sa bayan.”

The President also assured them of the government’s steadfast support: “Makakaasa kayo na laging nandidito ang pamahalaan upang protektahan, alagaan, at itaguyod ang kapakanan ninyo at ng mga pamilya ninyo.”

The tribute concert featured performances from Rap Cañedo, Marielle Montellano, Chito Ricafrenz, Winchester Lopez, the KSP Band, and Primedance Manila. Reuben Laurente, former member of The CompanY, also took the stage.

Marcos expressed deep gratitude to OFWs, describing them as key contributors to the nation’s growth. “Ito ay simbolo ng aming taos-pusong pasasalamat at pagsaludo sa inyong di matatawarang sakripisyo at dedikasyon upang mapabuti ang inyong pamilya, komunidad, at bansa,” he said. He added, “Isa kayo sa mga dahilan sa pag-unlad ng ating bayan. Patuloy ninyong ipinapamana sa mundo ang likas na galing, tatag, at sipag ng lahing Pilipino.”

Officials from the Department of Migrant Workers, Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Tourism, and Department of Trade and Industry also attended the event.

Meanwhile, President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos are currently in Rome to attend the funeral of Pope Francis.
