Marcos urges Filipinos to embrace eGovPH for faster, easier transactions

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is encouraging more Filipinos to use the eGovPH super app, describing it as a simple, one-stop platform for completing government transactions without leaving home.

In his latest podcast episode, Marcos said he personally pushed for an interface that anyone could navigate—even those unfamiliar with technology. “I made sure that while the code was still being written, my constant reminder was that the app needs to be simple. It should be very easy to use and to be understood by everyone,” he said. He compared its ease of use to Facebook, stressing that no training is needed—only public awareness that such an app exists.

Launched by the Department of Information and Communications Technology in December 2022, the eGovPH app centralizes services such as filing applications, tracking requests, verifying identity, accessing digital government IDs, and making online payments. It also connects users to agencies like the Social Security System, GSIS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG Fund.

To date, more than 12 million people have downloaded the app, enabling over 150 million transactions. Marcos emphasized that it aims to remove queues, fixers, and corruption from government dealings. “No lines, no fixers, no corruption. That’s what we get because of the eGov app and one-stop shop that we inaugurated,” he earlier said.

The app is complemented by the eGovPH Serbisyo Hub, which provides on-site assistance for those who prefer face-to-face transactions while still benefiting from digital processes.

Marcos said further digitalization is vital for the Philippines to remain competitive. “It’s absolutely imperative now that children know how to use a computer, they know how to use the internet, and they know how to do work on the internet. It’s not an option anymore,” he said.
