President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has extended his gratitude to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for what he described as its enduring support to the Philippines, particularly for the welfare of overseas Filipino workers and in efforts to build “smarter, future-ready” governments.
Marcos welcomed UAE Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange Abdullah Nasser Mohamad Lootah at Malacañan Palace on Thursday following the conclusion of the Philippines–UAE Government Experience Exchange Forum.
“It was a pleasure to welcome Deputy Minister Abdulla Nasser Lootah and the UAE delegation as they conclude the Philippines–UAE Government Experience Exchange Forum,” the President wrote in a Facebook post. “We are grateful to the UAE for its continued support to our Filipino workers and for being a true partner in building smarter, future-ready governments. Through shared knowledge and collaboration, we are creating meaningful change for our people.”
During their courtesy call, Marcos underscored the Philippines’ appreciation for the UAE’s consistent commitment to Filipino workers in the Gulf state and its openness to joint initiatives that benefit both nations. Lootah, for his part, reaffirmed the UAE’s interest in strengthening ties, calling the bilateral relationship of great importance.
Lootah and his delegation were in Manila to participate in the Philippines–UAE Government Experience Exchange Forum, held from September 16 to 18. The event, organized by the Department of Budget and Management and the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, gathered government personnel from both sides to share expertise and best practices aimed at promoting innovation and preparing for the challenges of the future.
