Marcos thanks OFWs for showcasing Filipino heart and resilience abroad in 4th SONA

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed deep gratitude to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, acknowledging their vital role in uplifting the country’s global image.

This recognition comes as new data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas shows a 2.6% increase in personal remittances from OFWs, reaching US$3.02 billion (over PHP 171 billion) in February 2025, compared to US$2.95 billion (PHP 167 billion) in the same month last year.
