President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. formally welcomed the newly appointed ambassadors of four key partner nations—Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and Kuwait—during a ceremony at Malacañang on Tuesday, where the envoys presented their credentials.
The president assured the diplomats of the Philippines’ continued commitment to bolstering bilateral relations. “We will continue to deepen and strengthen our cooperation,” Marcos said, addressing the ambassadors during the event.
The newly designated envoys include Dr. Asima Rabbani of Pakistan, Faisal Ebraheem Alajrafi Alghamdi of Saudi Arabia, Makawadee Sumitmor of Thailand, and Meshari Yousef Muhammad Alnibari of Kuwait. Each presented their letters of credence in a formal diplomatic tradition that signals the start of their official duties in the Philippines.
Joining Marcos in receiving the diplomats was Department of Foreign Affairs Acting Secretary Charles Jose.
The Philippines maintains longstanding diplomatic ties with these countries—dating back to 1949 with Pakistan and Thailand, 1969 with Saudi Arabia, and 1979 with Kuwait.
