Marcos orders LGUs to include homeless in 4Ps and DSWD aid

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed local government units (LGUs) to identify and enroll homeless individuals in the government’s social protection programs, particularly the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), as part of a broader effort to uplift the most vulnerable.

“Batid nating lahat ang mga kababayan natin na namumuhay sa lansangan. Sila ang pinaka-nangangailangan ng tulong ng pamahalaan,” Marcos stressed during his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday.

He emphasized that no one should be left behind, urging LGUs to take proactive steps. “Hanapin ninyong lahat at ipasok silang lahat sa 4Ps at sa iba pang mga programa ng DSWD,” he added.

Currently, more than 5 million families are benefiting from 4Ps, which provides conditional cash grants to improve children’s health, education, and nutrition over a maximum of seven years. The president also noted that about 500,000 families have already experienced improvements in their quality of life through the program.
