Marcos optimistic about Naia Terminal 3 upgrades, says it’s time Filipinos stop being ashamed of their airport

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed satisfaction on Tuesday following his inspection of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3, highlighting visible improvements and expressing confidence in ongoing modernization efforts.

“I wanted to see for myself what’s been happening at Naia,” Marcos said in an Inquirer.net report, referring to the changes implemented since private operator New Naia Infra Corp (NNIC) took over the terminal’s operations. “Everything is going to get better for the passengers, everything is going to get better for the employees, everything is going to get better for the government.”

The President toured several upgraded areas of the terminal, including the immigration section, the new OFW immigration annex, a rest lounge, and designated arrival and transportation service areas.

Marcos underscored that the primary goal of the modernization is to enhance the travel experience for both Filipinos and foreigners while safeguarding the employment of current airport personnel. He also emphasized that the government will monitor NNIC’s performance to ensure it delivers on its commitments.

“We’re all sick and tired of being ashamed of our airport,” the President said, echoing the frustrations of many travelers and signaling a strong push for long-overdue improvements.
