President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is not bothered by the recent dip in his approval and trust ratings, according to Malacañang, assuring the public that he will continue working regardless of survey results.
“Hindi po nabahala ang Pangulo sa anumang rating sa survey,” said Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro in a press briefing on Monday, April 21. Her statement came after the March 2025 Pulse Asia survey revealed a 17-point drop in the President’s approval rating—from 42 percent in February—while his disapproval rating rose to 53 percent from 32 percent.
She added that Marcos remains focused on governance grounded in law and proper conduct, not popularity.
Castro also questioned the representativeness of the survey’s 2,400 respondents. “Hindi po ito kabuuan na sentimiento ng buong Pilipinas,” she said.
She further raised the possibility that the results could have been influenced by disinformation.
Despite the backlash, the Palace reiterated that the President is determined to follow through with his plans.
