President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. spent part of December 19, 2025 with overseas Filipino workers and their families who were invited to Malacañang Palace as part of the government’s year-end public engagement activities.
Around 400 OFWs and relatives were present on the fourth day of the “Tara sa Palasyo” program, which has been allowing selected groups to enter the Palace grounds during the Christmas season. The President personally joined the gathering alongside senior officials involved in migrant welfare and labor administration.
Also in attendance were Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan, labor attachés, and officials and employees from both OWWA and the Department of Migrant Workers.
The Palace open house began on December 16 and is scheduled to run until December 23, 2025, giving members of the public access to the historic complex for several days during the holidays.
Families who attended were able to take part in activities set up within the grounds, including games, children’s rides, complimentary film screenings, and food stalls prepared for visitors.
The event was organized as part of the administration’s Christmas initiatives, with government agencies coordinating the participation of OFWs and their families in line with the Palace schedule and security arrangements.
