Marcos, Duterte trust ratings decline in latest SWS survey

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte saw their trust ratings drop in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted in September 2025.

According to the SWS poll commissioned by think tank Stratbase, 43% of Filipinos said they have “much trust” in President Marcos, down from 48% in June. Meanwhile, those who expressed “little trust” rose from 30% to 36%, while 21% remained undecided. This resulted in a net trust rating of +7, a notable decrease from +18 three months earlier.

Vice President Duterte also experienced a similar decline. Her “much trust” rating fell from 61% in June to 53% in September, while her “little trust” rating climbed to 28%. The undecided group stood at 18%, giving her a net rating of +25 compared to +38 previously.

Reacting to the survey results, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said the President continues to focus on fighting corruption and improving the lives of Filipinos. “Ang Pangulong Marcos, Jr. ay nakikita natin na tunay na nagtatrabaho at kumakalaban sa korupsiyon. Walang humpay para umangat ang buhay ng bawat Pilipino sa gitna ng mga kalamidad na kinakaharap natin,” she said in a message to reporters.

The nationwide survey, conducted from September 24 to 30, covered 1,500 respondents aged 18 and above. Participants were interviewed face-to-face across Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with a margin of error of ±3% for national results.
