President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved several proclamations declaring special non-working holidays in various towns and cities across the Philippines in celebration of local festivals and founding anniversaries.
The proclamations—signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on behalf of the President—were announced through the Official Gazette this week.
“It is fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” said Marcos, emphasizing the significance of community participation in these cultural and historical events.
Among the areas included in the presidential proclamations are the Municipality of Rizal in Cagayan, which will observe a special holiday on April 26, 2025, for its founding anniversary, and the Municipality of Pulilan in Bulacan, where May 14, 2025, has been declared a holiday for the Kneeling Carabao Festival.
The City of Butuan will also celebrate the Balangay Festival with a non-working holiday on May 19, 2025.
Meanwhile, April 21, 2025, has been declared a special holiday in Natonin, Mountain Province, in honor of the First Sas-alliwa Festival, and Infanta, Quezon will commemorate its founding anniversary with a holiday on April 25, 2025.
