President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared August 21 to 23, 2024, as non-working holidays to observe Ninoy Aquino Day.
The decision was announced in Proclamation No. 665, where Marcos emphasized the importance of maintaining the significance of the day, while also creating a longer weekend to boost domestic tourism.
