Filipino singing icon Marcelito Pomoy, known for his remarkable ability to sing in both male and female voices, will no longer be performing at the Winter Night Market in Al Rigga on December 3, 2024. The much-anticipated free-to-attend event, scheduled to coincide with the UAE’s National Day celebrations, has been canceled due to logistical and travel issues, organizers told The Global Filipino Magazine.
The announcement has left fans disappointed, as Marcelito’s performance was expected to be a highlight of the National Day festivities, drawing a large crowd of Filipinos and other nationalities who frequent the Winter Night Market during the holiday season.
The Winter Night Market performance was intended to promote Marcelito’s upcoming “Duet of Dreams” World Tour, set to kick off at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 22, 2024. The world premiere of the tour will celebrate Marcelito’s inspiring journey from humble beginnings in Manila to international stardom, featuring powerful original songs, visually stunning performances, and special guest JODOKCELLO.
Despite the cancellation, Marcelito’s team assures fans that preparations for the “Duet of Dreams” concert are in full swing. The December 22 event promises to be an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and resilience, with a special debut of a new Christmas song to bring hope and warmth to the holiday season.
