Marc Nelson clarifies testimony in Maggie Wilson-Victor Consunji legal battle, cites concern for godson

Television host and personality Marc Nelson has addressed his involvement in the ongoing legal battle between his former co-host Maggie Wilson and her ex-husband, Victor Consunji, clarifying that his testimony was motivated solely by concern for his godson, Connor.

In a series of Instagram stories, Nelson explained that Connor, Wilson and Consunji’s 12-year-old son, had confided in him about feeling distressed and uncomfortable with his mother’s social media activity during the parental dispute.

“My only concern regarding this matter is the welfare of their son, who happens to be my godson,” Nelson said. “At his age, he is beginning to build his identity, and these public stories could have a lasting impact.”

Nelson revealed that Connor expressed how social media posts by Wilson made him feel “uncomfortable” and “upset,” drawing unwanted attention from peers and adults. This prompted Nelson to testify in the legal case, emphasizing his intent to protect Connor’s well-being by urging for those posts to stop.

“While I know both parents, I have never intended to take sides. My concern has always been Connor’s welfare,” Nelson clarified. He also requested media outlets to avoid referencing Connor in future coverage of his parents’ legal disputes.

Nelson’s statement follows Wilson’s revelation that he testified in favor of Consunji in a court petition related to parental matters. Wilson detailed that the petition, which sought to prevent her from communicating with Connor, was denied by the family court.

Wilson and Consunji separated in 2021 after 11 years of marriage, with Connor residing under his father’s care. Wilson has expressed her continued love for her son despite the court-ordered restrictions on communication.
