Manny Pacquiao begins training in L.A. for July boxing comeback

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is officially lacing up his gloves once more as he kicked off his training camp in Los Angeles, California, in preparation for his much-anticipated return to the ring this July.

“This is the beginning of another chapter. I’m inspired, I’m motivated, and I’m ready to show the world that I still have what it takes,” Pacquiao declared. He further emphasized his purpose, saying, “Laban ito para sa bayan. Para sa lahat ng naniniwala na hindi pa tapos ang laban.”

The 45-year-old former eight-division world champion is reportedly eyeing a bout against Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. While earlier reports hinted at his intent to focus on the 2025 senatorial race in the Philippines—where he failed to secure a Senate seat—Pacquiao now appears fully committed to his boxing comeback.

Pacquiao stepped away from the sport in 2021 following a unanimous decision loss to Yordenis Ugas. His professional record stands at 62 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws, including 39 knockouts.
