Dubai is set to witness a clash of icons as Filipino sports legend Manny Pacquiao takes on Dubai-based celebrity Kris Fade in a highly anticipated exhibition basketball game. Dubbed Team Pacquiao vs. Team Kris Fade, the game will be held at the Al Nasr Club, Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall, on December 2, 2024, as part of the 6th Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season Finals.
Presented by DJMC Events, the game tips off at 7 PM and promises to deliver an evening of fun and excitement as Pacquiao showcases his basketball prowess alongside his team, while Kris Fade leads his squad in this friendly competition. The event will also feature a surprise performance by a popular rapper from the Philippines, as shared by DJMC with The Global Filipino Magazine.
This exhibition match serves as an exciting prelude to the MPBL’s championship series, which pits the Pampanga Giant Lanterns against the Quezon Huskers in a best-of-five showdown. Game 1 of the Finals will take place on December 1, 2024, at 6 PM, with Game 2 scheduled for December 3, 2024, both at the same venue.
Pacquiao founded the MPBL in 2017 to provide a platform for grassroots basketball talents in the Philippines. The league has since become the country’s largest regional professional basketball tournament, fostering local athletic development and uniting communities through sports.
Fade, on the other hand, is a household name in Dubai’s entertainment scene. Known for hosting the popular “The Kris Fade Show” on Virgin Radio Dubai, the Australian-Lebanese personality is also recognized for his stint on Netflix’s hit reality series “Dubai Bling”, which showcases the glamorous lifestyles of Dubai’s elite.
