A manager is seeking Dh600,000 in compensation after sustaining a severe knee injury in a motorcycle accident caused by a private taxi driver in Dubai. The crash left the manager needing urgent surgery to repair his posterior cruciate ligament, forcing him to use a walking stick for mobility.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the accident occurred in Bur Dubai when the Asian driver lost control of his vehicle, hitting a pavement before veering into the manager’s motorcycle. Following the crash, the manager was taken to the hospital, where an MRI revealed multiple injuries to his right knee, including ligament damage and fractures.
Dubai Traffic Court found the driver guilty of inattentive and negligent driving, resulting in the accident and causing bodily harm. He was fined Dh4,000.
The manager’s lawyer, Hani Hammouda Hagag, filed the civil lawsuit, seeking compensation for medical expenses, physical and emotional distress, and the impact on his client’s ability to work. The manager has already incurred nearly Dh200,000 in medical bills and continues to undergo treatment.
