A domestic dispute in Sharjah escalated into violence, leaving a 28-year-old man and his 40-year-old girlfriend hospitalised after he stabbed her and attempted to harm himself. Both individuals are now in police custody.
According to a Gulf News report, the incident occurred following an argument fueled by the man’s consumption of narcotics. The altercation turned violent when he attacked the woman, stabbing her in the abdomen, before injuring his own leg in a suicide attempt.
The woman’s mother, alarmed by the commotion, called for an ambulance, prompting police to investigate at the hospital. Following medical treatment, the man was transferred to police custody in Wasit, while the woman was taken to central jail. Both are set to face further legal proceedings under public prosecution.
