Man presumed dead shocks family by returning home in Pangasinan

A man who was presumed dead and buried by his family stunned them by unexpectedly returning home in Sual, Pangasinan.

The incident, reported by Russel Simorio on GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, occurred after a man’s lower half was found being battered by waves on the rocks in Burgos, Pangasinan, on August 4.

Eduardo Gille Sr., a resident of Barangay Seselangen, Sual, had left home on August 1 and had not been seen since, leading his family to believe that the body found was his. Identifying the body only by the feet, the family claimed it, held a two-night wake, and buried it on August 7.

“Sabi nila multo-multo. Sabi sa akin ‘bakit ka nabuhay eh inilibing ka na?’ Sabi ko binigyan pa ako ng pagkakataon ng Panginoon,” Gille shared after visiting the grave where the unidentified body was buried.

Gille explained that he had left home on August 1 after a disagreement with his wife, but the report did not specify where he went.

The family expressed regret over the expenses incurred for the wake and burial.

Authorities in Burgos revealed that two other families from Dasol and Zambales have also claimed the body. To confirm its identity, a DNA test will be conducted.
