John Eriq Bonifacio was crowned Man of the Philippines-UAE 2023 on Sunday, December 10th, at the grand finals of the Dubai-based male pageant. Bonifacio emerged as the top contender among 17 candidates, showcasing his remarkable talent and charisma.
Bonifacio’s win was highlighted by his multiple awards. He clinched the Kihon Production Wear Designer’s Choice award, Swimwear Designer’s Choice Award, as well as being named Man of Production Wear, Man of Swimwear, and Best in Formal Wear. His exceptional performance in various categories underscored his versatility and appeal in the competition.
The event also celebrated the achievements of other contestants. Prince Maristela was named first runner-up, earning the title Man of Advocacy. Maristela also bagged several awards, including Fab Jewellery Ambassador, Kihon Social Media Choice Award, Man of Rave Wear, Man of Summer Wear, and Man of Social Media.
Ahmed Romero was honored as the second runner-up with the title Man of Integrity. Alongside this, Romero won the Celebrity District Ambassador award and Man of the Press award. Thirdy Ramos, who was declared the third runner-up with the title Man of Nationalism, also received recognition for his advocacy work, winning the Best in Advocacy award for his support of children with HIV.
The grand finale, held at the Bristol Hotel, featured a panel of celebrity judges including Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados, actor Gab Lagman, and Jojo Bragais. The event was not just a celebration of physical attractiveness but also a platform for advocating various social causes and showcasing diverse talents.
Other notable award winners included Kristian Allen Gobrin (Man of Talent), Nino Carl Gueta (The Doctors’ Hub Health Ambassador and Betty Arabia Aesthetics Award), Carl Jasper Panaligan (La Belle Amor Award), and Ravegne Compasivo and Rashed Descalzo (Cortez Ambassadors).
