Police in Uttar Pradesh, India arrested Anil Kumar of Basra village on Saturday after he allegedly beheaded his wife over suspicions of an affair.
Kumar was seen walking barefoot through the streets carrying his wife’s severed head and the sickle used in the crime. Police apprehended him after concerned witnesses notified authorities. A video of the incident circulated on social media.
Barabanki Superintendent of Police, Dinesh Kumar Singh, confirmed the arrest, as well as the recovery of the victim’s body, which was sent for a post-mortem examination. The couple was married for eight years and had two children.
“We are further looking into the matter,” SP Singh stated.
