Man found beheaded in Negros Occidental; police link crime to old feud

A gruesome crime shocked Cauayan, Negros Occidental, after a man was found dead on the roadside with his head severed, allegedly due to an attack by a long-time adversary.

According to a report by GTV’s State of the Nation on Monday, police investigations revealed that the victim was buying from a store when the suspect, armed with a bolo, arrived. The victim attempted to flee but was caught and hacked repeatedly.

Authorities suspect the motive behind the brutal killing stems from a longstanding dispute. The victim had previously filed a complaint against the suspect for assaulting his sibling.

The suspect has been apprehended and is facing murder charges but has yet to issue a statement.
