Sharjah Police have confirmed the detention of a 38-year-old Indian man who tried to commit suicide after attempting to kill his wife and son. According to a Gulf News report, citing initial investigations, the man attempted the acts due to financial difficulties.
The man allegedly first tried to harm his wife and son and then turned the knife on himself, cutting his wrists and slitting his throat. Neighbors, alarmed by the commotion and screams from the apartment, contacted the police, who quickly arrived and transported the injured to a nearby hospital.
The wife and son are reported to be out of danger and recovering, while the man is under police custody at the hospital. Authorities have stated that charges will be filed against him as the investigation continues.
