The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has announced new overseas job openings for Filipinos, with Malta offering salaries of up to P250,000 a month for qualified applicants.
According to a report from Unang Balita, Filipino caregivers are in high demand in Malta, with salaries ranging from €1,000 to €3,500 (around P64,000 to P250,000). Aside from caregivers, Malta is also looking to hire cooks, waiters, machine operators, sales assistants, accountants, and bus drivers.
DMW Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan said Malta considers the Philippines one of its top partner countries for overseas employment. “They are exploring a bilateral labor agreement and government-to-government hiring for care workers,” she said.
Meanwhile, Albania is also eyeing to hire around 20,000 Filipino workers for its growing hospitality sector.
The DMW reminded job seekers to process government-to-government applications directly through their office without any placement fee. For jobs coursed through private recruitment firms, applicants are advised to verify agency legitimacy via the DMW’s official website.
