Major road project in Dubai to cut travel time by 75%

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a new Dh600 million project under the Sheikh Rashid Corridor Development, aimed at easing traffic flow across key areas in the city. The project will connect Al Asayel Street to Al Khail Road via Al Nawras Street and provide an exit to Oud Metha and Al Nawras Streets, significantly reducing travel time by 75%.

The project includes constructing four major intersections, 4,300 metres of bridges, and 14 km of roads, benefiting communities such as Zabeel, Al Jaddaf, Oud Metha, and Latifa Hospital. By 2030, it is expected to serve a population of over 420,000.

Once completed, the development will boost the capacity of Oud Metha Street from 10,400 to 15,600 vehicles per hour, and cut travel time from 20 minutes to just five minutes.
