A Filipino expatriate in Dubai is celebrating a life-changing windfall after winning $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) Millennium Millionaire promotion.
Arsenio A., 47, struck luck with ticket number 3836 in Series 515 of the draw held at Concourse B of Dubai International Airport. He purchased the winning ticket online on August 30.
A father of two and a long-time pharmaceutical worker, Arsenio has called Dubai home for 18 years. For the past decade, he has regularly tried his luck in the DDF promotions — and this time, his persistence finally paid off.
“Thank you so much Dubai Duty Free! You’ve been changing lives with this incredible opportunity, and I’m grateful to be one of them,” Arsenio said, overwhelmed by the milestone.
His victory places him among a select group of 15 Filipinos who have become millionaires through the Millennium Millionaire draw since it began in 1999.
The same draw also produced another dollar millionaire, an Indian expat from Sharjah.
