A Filipino expat in Dubai is celebrating after his name was called as one of the lucky winners in the Big Ticket’s second weekly draw of September.
Ryan Napili Mendones, a 43-year-old structural inspector from the Philippines, has been living in Dubai for two years while his family remains back home. He bought his winning ticket at the Abu Dhabi International Airport Store, just months after he first learned about the raffle through his colleagues.
“I was tense when I first received the call, but then the excitement and happiness started to sink in,” Mendones shared in a Khaleej Times report. He added that he plans to split the Dh50,000 prize with the group of 10 colleagues he joined to buy tickets. “I plan to share the prize with my colleagues, and while I’m still unsure what I’ll do with my portion, I know I’ll continue purchasing from Big Ticket,” he said.
Mendones is one of four winners announced in the weekly draw, which also included three Indian nationals. The Big Ticket raffle continues to roll out prizes throughout September, leading up to its Dh20 million grand draw on October 3.
