A content creator has been slapped with a 90-day license suspension by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) after a video surfaced showing him using a cellphone while driving a Porsche on a highway.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II confirmed the action, stating that the man was allegedly creating content while behind the wheel, which he described as “a clear violation of road safety rules.”
The agency stressed that the act posed serious risks and should not be tolerated regardless of the type of vehicle involved. “No matter what type of vehicle is being driven, we must still learn to obey traffic laws,” Mendoza emphasized. “If the driver is indeed a content creator, then there is this responsibility for him to set a good example to his followers.”
A show cause order issued by the LTO’s Intelligence and Investigation Division, led by Renante Melitante, cited the driver for at least three violations: reckless driving, violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act, and being deemed an “Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.” The last charge could lead to a full revocation of the license, the agency warned.
In addition to the license suspension, the Porsche used in the video was placed under alarm, and both the driver and the car’s registered owner were summoned to explain why they should not face further administrative penalties.
The LTO continues to monitor such cases closely as it pushes for responsible driving behavior across all sectors—including social media influencers.
