Lost your passport in Dubai? Here’s what to do, according to the Philippine Consulate

The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has released a detailed step-by-step guide for Filipinos who have lost their passports. The information was shared through its official Facebook page as part of the “Tanong ni Kabayan, Sagot ng Konsulado!” campaign—an ongoing consular awareness initiative designed to help Filipinos access essential government services more easily.

The campaign’s latest advisory addresses a common concern among overseas Filipinos: what to do when a passport is lost.

  1. Schedule an appointment online

Applicants must book a replacement appointment through passport.gov.ph
. Once the provisional schedule is created, an email will be sent to confirm the appointment.

The Consulate reminds applicants to confirm their booking within one (1) hour of receiving the email. Failure to do so will automatically cancel the provisional slot. Confirmation can be done by clicking the link in the email titled “Click here to CONFIRM your booking.”

  1. Wait for the confirmation email

After confirming the booking, applicants will receive a confirmed passport appointment email. This message will include the appointment code, date, time, and venue—typically PCG Dubai—along with detailed next steps and reminders. Applicants are advised to print the attached forms and bring all required documents on the scheduled date.

  1. Visit the Consulate on the appointment date

On the day of the appointment, applicants must personally appear at the Consulate and bring the following:

Printed Passport Application Form (attached to the confirmation email)

Original and two (2) copies of the Police Report

If the report is in Arabic, a legally issued English translation from an official typing center must be provided

One valid ID from the list of acceptable identification cards (e.g., Emirates ID, driver’s license, PRC ID, UMID, OWWA or iDOLE card, student ID, postal ID, etc.)

Three (3) clear copies of the passport data page

Accomplished Affidavit of Lost Passport (to be completed at the Consulate during the appointment)

  1. For special cases

Applicants must also prepare additional documents when applicable:

If the passport data page is missing or unclear: bring the original and two (2) copies of a PSA-issued Birth Certificate or Report of Live Birth.

For married female applicants who have changed their surname: bring the original and two (2) copies of a PSA-issued Marriage Certificate or Report of Marriage.

  1. Arrive early and complete all requirements

The Consulate advises applicants to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment and ensure that all documents are complete to avoid delays or rescheduling.

Public reminder

The PCG reiterates that this process applies to adult applicants seeking replacement of lost passports. The campaign underscores the Consulate’s commitment to making consular procedures more transparent and accessible for Filipinos in the UAE.
