Dubai Police successfully returned lost belongings worth Dh26 million in 2024 through the lost and found system managed by the General Department of Airport Security.
In a Khaleej Times report, Brigadier Hamouda Balsuwaida Al Ameri, director of the department, highlighted the force’s dedication to swiftly tracking and handling lost item reports. Their efficient communication with individuals who reported missing belongings played a key role in ensuring prompt returns, aligning with Dubai Police’s mission to enhance public safety and satisfaction.
With Dubai’s airports recording over 92 million travel movements last year, including arrivals and transiting passengers, numerous cases of misplaced luggage containing valuable items and cash were reported.
Brigadier Al Ameri emphasized that the success of the lost and found system reflects Dubai Police’s commitment to maintaining security and trust among residents and visitors. He also underscored the force’s role in promoting human values such as tolerance and social responsibility, reinforcing Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading travel destinations.
