Liza Soberano confirms reunion project with Enrique Gil

Liza Soberano has confirmed that she is set to work again with longtime onscreen partner Enrique Gil on a new project, though they are still refining the concept to ensure it suits them both.

Speaking on the February 7 episode of TV Patrol, Soberano revealed that the project is still in development but will likely come to fruition within the next two years.

“We’re trying to come up with a concept we can do together in the future, and I can guarantee that it’s going to be in the next year or two because the concept that we’re coming up with needs to be fleshed out,” she said.

The actress also expressed her openness to doing a teleserye, emphasizing her desire to explore diverse roles and genres. “I’m definitely open to doing a teleserye. I think it just comes down to the concept. I’m at the stage where I [want to do] different kinds of characters and genres. I’m just looking for anything that excites me and is like kakaiba (different),” she added.

Soberano, now based in the United States, has been making strides in Hollywood, recently starring in Lisa Frankenstein alongside Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse. She parted ways with Careless Music in July 2024 and later joined Singapore-based management group WILD in November.

Meanwhile, Gil previously hinted at a possible horror film collaboration with Soberano in November 2024, though he did not disclose further details. While promoting his Metro Manila Film Festival entry Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital, he opted not to answer questions about Soberano, stating that he didn’t want to use her name for publicity.

The two actors, known as “LizQuen,” have been the subject of breakup rumors since 2023, though Gil dismissed the speculation in early 2024.
